For the ninth year in a row, the Metropole Orkest and Melkweg are teaming up to open the Amsterdam Dance Event. This year, they’re joining forces with DJ DBN Gogo for a special tribute to Amapiano, the hugely popular music genre from South Africa. DBN Gogo, whose real name is Mandisa Radebe, is a South African DJ and producer who has quickly become a major name in the music scene. With her high-energy performances and eclectic DJ sets, she wins over audiences all around the world. Amapiano, which emerged in 2016, is a vibrant mix of deep house, jazz, kwaito, and lounge music, known for its catchy piano melodies. DBN Gogo stands out by blending different styles within Amapiano. With her infectious energy and strong stage presence, she’s breaking barriers and inspiring a new generation of female artists.
