We have been working around the clock to make Dekmantel Festival a reality this year, so it is with a very heavy heart that we hereby have to inform you that we are forced to postpone the 2021 edition to 2022.
A couple of weeks ago the Dutch government officially allowed all event promoters to organise outdoor events. Today, due to a sharp rise in positive cases, as a result of a failing public test system, the same government decided to abruptly revert this policy and has prohibited all outdoor events until August 13th.
When a couple of weeks ago the green light was given, we were on the verge of canceling our festival due to the short preparation time. However, with the government’s blessing we started working around the clock with a dedicated but decimated crew to make the festival a reality. The last few weeks we’ve adapted to these extraordinary circumstances as best as possible. It’s very painful to face the reality that we are unable to deliver an amazing festival, and that all our work has been for nothing, for the second year in a row.
We have a lot of unanswered questions at the moment and we understand that you might have them as well. We promise that all ticket holders will be offered a fitting solution and we will get in touch next week with ticket options via email. Please wait with reaching out to our support team for now.
The impact this decision has on our small crew, all the artists who play at our festival, our partners, and our team of freelancers is enormous. Last year many of you showed your support which meant a great deal to us and helped us get through the year, for which we’re extremely grateful, and we trust that we will dance together in the Amsterdamse Bos in 2022.
